
Two Students of the Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery College, Kenten – Techinman, Mr. Eric Tweneboah and Ms. Belinda Akoto Appiah, have won laurels at the 2017 Licensure Examination conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
Mr. Eric Tweneboah was awarded the Best student in RGN Practical Examination whilst Ms. Belinda Akoto Appiah was awarded the Best student in Registered Midwifery Written Exams.
Holy Family Nursing and Midwifery Training College, Kenten-Techiman started in the 2013/2014 academic year. It is adjacent the Holy Family Hospital which serves as a clinical training site. It is the 3rd of the three (3) Holy Family Health Training Institutions of NCHS, Holy Family NMTC, Berekum and NTC, Nkawkaw.
The School turned out three (3) batches of students with hundred percent (100%) pass rate for two consecutive times, 2016 and 2017.
Tracer studies/reports indicate that the students who turn out as newly qualified staff are the preferred choice among their peers at the service delivery area. They are diligent and able to perform procedures that other colleagues find daunting.
A total of Five Hundred and Forty Seven (547) applicants were short listed for interview, of which Ninety Nine (99) were admitted into the Registered General Nursing (RGN) Programme, Ninety Six (96) students for Registered Midwifery (RM) and Fifty Six (56) students were admitted to read the Post NAC/NAP Midwifery Programme. Thus a total of 251 fresh men and women were admitted into the 2018/2019 Academic Year.
