DIRECTOR OF HEALTH SERVICE PLEDGES SUPPORT TO NCHS FACILITIES

The newly appointed Director of Health Service, Central Region, Dr. Alexis Nang-Beifubah, has pledged his commitment to supporting the progress of work of facilities of the National Catholic Health Service (NCHS) in his region.
He said his experience with working with faith-based institutions and Catholic health facilities in particular as a Director across the country, has made a lasting impression of the NCHS as being professional and empathetic in its healthcare delivery.
Dr. Alexis spoke highly of the services of such facilities as the St. Francis Xavier Hospital, Assin Fosu, Our Lady of Grace, Breman Asikuma, St. Luke Hospital, Apam, Mercy Women Hospital, Apam and St. Gregory Hospital, Gomoa Budumburam.

He made the remarks when the Bishop Responsible for Health, Most. Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu led a team of Officers from the NCHS Secretariat to pay a courtesy call on him at his office in Cape Coast. The Bishop and his team were in the Cape Coast Archdiocese on a working visit to some selected facilities in the Archdiocese.
The Regional Health Director pledged to support the facilities in any capacity he could if the concerns are brought to his attention. He said his doors were opened for any discussion on any matter relating to quality healthcare delivery in the region. He promised to ensure equitable distribution of Medical Officers to all facilities. ‘In the allocation of logistics as well, what is due you will be given to you’, he assured.

Dr. Alexis Nang-Beifubah has as his vision for Health Service in the region, to scale up Community-based and Health Planning Service (CHPS) implementation, promote ICT capacity building for universal health coverage and improved referrals, lobby to carry out facelift of the Regional Health Directorate block and scale up Peer Review to cover health centers.
