The Director of Health at the National Catholic Health Service, George A. Adjei Esq, has appealed to endowed hospitals in the Service to consider allocating some of their medical equipment to disadvantaged clinics that are in dire need of basic medical equipment. .
Mr. Adjei made the appeal when he accompanied the Bishop responsible for Health, Most. Rev. Emmanuel Fianu, SVD, on his recent duty tour to the Techiman Diocese. He observed that whereas some of the hospitals have equipment they no longer have need of which could serve useful purpose for surrounding clinics, they were still keeping them. He further suggested that “big” hospitals adopt smaller clinics and supervise them.
The visit revealed that some of the clinics are in dire need of such appliances as medicine refrigerators to store drugs, nebulizers, incubators, blood mixers, haematology analyzer, full biochemistry analyzer, centrifuge, microscope, glucometer machines, screens, trolleys, beds, motor bikes for community outreaches, delivery beds, patient beds and lockers, patient monitors, suturing sets, wheel chairs, dobblers, ambubags, resuscitation devices, perfusors with accessories, ultrasound/scan devices, patient trolleys, sterilizers/autoclave, micro plate reader and washer, centrifuge, electrophoresis analyzer etcetera.
Public spirited individuals and organizations are welcome to support.
